Split Bolt Connectors Line Taps 02-u

Professional Line Tap and Split Bolt Connection Solutions

Split Bolt Connectors Line Taps

Split-bolt connectors join or tap conductors by clamping them between the connector body and pressure pad. Select the model for the conductor material, cross-section, stranding and combination of main and tap conductors. Brass and copper connector designs are not automatically suitable for aluminium conductors. Confirm material grade, finish, installation torque and any required test or approval documentation for the selected model.

Connector Specifications

Material Standard:

BS 2874 CZ 112

Conductor Range:

10mm² to 500mm²

Finish Options:

Natural & Electro-Tinned

Technical Specifications

High Tensile Brass Construction

Manufactured from high tensile brass to BS 2874 CZ 112 standards, providing superior mechanical strength, excellent electrical conductivity, and corrosion resistance for demanding electrical distribution applications.

Rolled Thread Technology

Rolled threads may be specified for the connector design. Clamping force depends on the geometry, friction and applied torque; it is not established by the thread manufacturing process alone.

Extruded Pressure Pads

Specify pressure-pad material and geometry for the conductor combination. The pad must distribute clamping load without unacceptable conductor damage; manufacturing from extruded bar does not guarantee that cracking is impossible.

International Standards Compliance

Agree the exact material, dimensional and connector-test standards with the order. Confirm the selected model’s conductor range, installation instructions and supporting test documentation.

Technical FAQ – Split Bolt Connectors Line Taps

Which material should be specified?

Specify the connector alloy and any coating for the intended conductor materials. A brass or copper-alloy connector is not automatically suitable for aluminium conductors or mixed-metal connections.

How do I confirm connection compatibility?

Select the exact main and tap conductor combination, including material, cross-section and stranding. Connector acceptance ranges and the permitted number of conductors are model-specific.

What dimensions are needed for selection?

Provide main and tap conductor sizes, available clearance and the required connection arrangement. Nominal connector or bolt size is not a substitute for the documented conductor range.

What determines suitability and operating limits?

Split-bolt connectors make mechanical electrical connections. Use the specified tightening torque, conductor preparation and insulation system. Confirm suitability for outdoor, buried or other service conditions and request the applicable test evidence.

What finish and inspection documentation should I request?

State the required surface finish, coating thickness where relevant, and critical dimensions on the order. Material certificates, dimensional reports and any specified performance tests should be agreed in the quotation. A reference to a standard is not a declaration of third-party certification.

Can I request a custom part or export quotation?

Send a drawing or clearly dimensioned sample specification, material, quantity and delivery destination. Identify application conditions and required approvals. Brass Parts India can review the requirement and confirm feasibility, price, documentation and lead time for the quoted part.
